Senior Policy Advisor — Personal Statement
In my current role as a Policy Manager within central government, I have consistently led cross-departmental initiatives that translated complex stakeholder needs into clear, evidence-based recommendations that shaped ministerial decisions at the highest level.
My approach to stakeholder engagement is grounded in understanding differing organisational priorities early. When tasked with coordinating a high-profile briefing across four departments with competing interests, I convened a series of structured workshops that built consensus where there had been none.
This led to a structured consultation process that reduced turnaround time by 40% and was subsequently adopted as standard practice across the directorate, commended by the Director General at the annual leadership conference.
94% of stakeholders rated the outcome positively, against a target of 75%. This result directly informed the department’s approach to cross-government collaboration, cited in three subsequent policy reviews as an exemplar of effective engagement.
I bring to this role a track record of translating complexity into actionable policy, a deep commitment to evidence-led decision making, and the interpersonal skills to build coalitions across organisational boundaries…

Ego, founder of Submiti
A note from the founder

Built because I lived this problem.

I built Submiti after a recruiter called and I couldn’t remember which role it was for. I was clicking through tabs and emails, trying to sound composed. It was embarrassing. It was also completely avoidable.

I moved to the UK and had to learn how this system works. Graduate schemes. Assessment centres. Then the Civil Service, with its own language of Success Profiles and behaviours and 250-word limits. There is a real craft to it, and most people learn it by failing first.

Submiti is the workspace I needed then. One place for the research, the tailoring, the prep, the follow-ups. No sprawl. No panic.

If you’ve ever felt that phone-call dread, you’ll feel at home here.
